carcass

It's been cold and I haven't been out taking many photos. The backyard is handy.

I took this photo in the summer and developed it the other day with a bunch of snow rolls. Much like the snow rolls of film, the temperature was extreme. I wanted to take photos, but just didn't have it in me to trudge through the heat. Off to the backyard, I went, and the same the other day in the cold.

Cottage Life

I'm rusty on the blogging thing; it's been too long, but I think I'm back. I'm easing in with a photo from while I was away at our friend's cottage. It's not a favourite or anything, but it does have me in it, and there are usually very few that I make an appearance in.
I've got plans to post photos from the weddings we've done with some of my favourite photos. I should be back soon.
Resurrection, PAULA!?

Wow, it has been awhile!  We've been busy at Persistence of Vision Photography with some mini-portfolios to follow.  We've got a wedding season that is filling up and we've been busy shooting a number of different projects.  I've got plans for Donna and I and our respective Photography for this year.  Here is a small sampling of a new project I've started - Cabin Artifacts - which turns on the co-mingling of seemingly mundane objects and their emotional inertia.

I had planned to get out to the Arboretum today, but it just didn't happen. There was instead lots of tea, and a stew, and plenty of internet and movies. I'm watching Enchanted again, and yesterday there was Luther. It's cold and blustery out there, but I made sure to get out there for short bursts the last couple of days. We are finally getting a winter, and it's almost time to wrap it up and put it away.

I've been watching - Republic of Doyle, of course and Being Human, the British version, in small doses. The dreams of dark caves of vampires are giving me Old Hag dreams. (Scroll down to read about Newfoundland folklore)
I've been eating - at Delhi Street Bistro. There is some seriously good food happening at this restaurant. As this time they don't serve supper, but I think that's going to change at some point. I like to think of this place as my little secret, but more people need to experience. A lot of times, if I like something, I don't tell anyone, show anyone, let anyone eat; I keep it all to myself.
I've been listening - to the new Snow Patrol, and the cover they do of Katy Perry's, Last Friday night. I have it on my new Running in one spot mix for the gym.
I've been marvelling at - Ed Panar's book Animals that saw me.
